Media Advisory - MEC Nkomo-Ralehoko to unveil health technology centre and launch 'I Serve with a smile' campaign at Tshwane District Hospital 03 April 2025.pdf

Department of Health Department of Health 2025/04/02 - 22:00

The centre, located within the hospital’s Radiology Department, will house recently acquired digital X-ray equipment that will boost diagnostic imaging services and improve patient care in the district.

The newly unveiled equipment machines are procured as part of the department’s broader goal to modernize public health facilities.
These machines are already transforming service delivery at the hospital. They have led to faster turnaround times, improved image quality for accurate diagnosis, and reduced radiation exposure to patients.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), radiology services are critical in modern healthcare, with up to 70% of medical decisions influenced by diagnostic imaging results. This advancement in technology means more lives can be saved, more diseases detected early, and more patients treated effectively.

In addition to the unveiling of the X-ray centre, the MEC will also launch the “I Serve with a Smile” campaign, aimed at promoting positive patient experiences, improved staff morale, and a culture of empathy and professionalism in Gauteng health facilities. Staff members will be badged and take pledges, committing to values of service, compassion, and dignity.

Members of the media are invited to cover the event as follows:
