The Gauteng Department of Health (GDoH) is pleased to inform the public that the medical gas supply at the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital (CMJAH) is now back to normal. This was restored two hours ahead of schedule at 16:00.
This follows the successful rerouting of the medical gas supply pipeline into a new line as part of the ongoing remedial work project to reconstruct the areas damaged by the fire incident that occurred four years ago.
During the medical gas shutdown, planned from 12:00 to 18:00 today, patients reliant on medical gas were temporarily switched to gas cylinders; however, they are now connected to the normal supply line.
The Department thanks all teams involved in the project for the incident-free operation.
