As part of the build-up to the anti-substance abuse mass mobilisation and admission programme scheduled for 27 October 2025, the Gauteng Provincial Government hosted an activation blitz at Phumulani Mall in Tembisa.
This event aimed to raise awareness about the initiative, reflecting the government's commitment to addressing substance abuse in our communities.
The programme seeks to reach all five corridors of Gauteng, identifying and registering individuals struggling with substance abuse.
It will provide access to rehabilitation facilities and equip participants with skills to become productive residents, restoring hope and dignity.
Sibusiso Ntuli took to the podium to share his inspiring journey of overcoming 17 years of substance abuse.
He acknowledged the challenges of recovery but urged those battling addiction to take the courageous step of seeking help and breaking free from the chains of addiction.
Celebrating one year of sobriety, Sibusiso emphasized the vital role of community and society in supporting recovery.
Addressing social challenges, improving family dynamics, fostering empathy, and creating a supportive environment are essential for building stronger communities.
He reassured attendees that recovery is possible, but it begins with the willingness to change.
