As part of oversight, Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport Kedibone Diale-Tlabela undertook proactive inspections as part of the Department’s commitment to ensuring compliance and efficiency at licensing centres across the province.
On Friday, 14 March 2025, paid an unannounced visit to the Centurion licensing centre at RTMC Offices in Tshwane. She followed this with another oversight visit to the Maponya Mall Licensing Centre in Klipspruit, Soweto on Monday, 17 March 2025.
These cutting-edge facilities are poised to redefine the licensing experience, promising unparalleled convenience, professionalism and efficiency.
According to MEC Diale-Tlabela, launching these centres is at the heart of prioritising service delivery interventions within or near townships, informal settlements and hostels.
The licensing centres are designed to be hubs of licensing services, offering comprehensive range of solutions, including vehicle license renewals, driving license applications, renewals and more. They are equipped with advanced technology and staffed by experienced and dedicated officials and are poised to deliver exceptional service.
"These unannounced visits are part of our efforts to ensure quality service to our clients and serve as a deterrent against alleged corrupt activities at our licensing centres" she said.
MEC Diale-Tlabela has vowed to carry out similar visits to various testing centres as the Department aims to tighten loopholes that make it possible for corruption to thrive at all testing centres across the province.
