Gauteng Infrastructure Development and Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) MEC Jacob Mamabolo convened an engagement session with all contracted DID Professional Service Providers (PSPs) on the 18 of March 2025 to outline quality service delivery expectations in all projects under his portfolio. The meeting took place in Benoni, Ekurhuleni, following the recent termination of underperforming contractors from a few delayed projects. With the DID currently implementing more than 160 infrastructure projects across the province the department also unveiled stricter contractor payment and project monitoring systems for faster service delivery.

MEC Mamabolo informed PSPs that with the new circular on operational guidelines and decisions coming into effect from the 1 of April 2025, a Portfolio of Evidence (POE) will be required before their payments will be processed. "We are going to issue a circular that says if you can't give us the POE on the work that you have done, then we will not pay you." He encouraged the PSPs to put more effort on their work and ensure that they deliver their promises to the community.

The department also introduced the groundbreaking Infrastructure Delivery Platform (iDEP) as a technologically integrated project monitoring solution. The new platform incorporates governance processes and project management systems while also serving an information hub for all projects implemented and managed by the Department of Infrastructure Development (DID) on behalf of Gauteng Provincial Government.
